Swedana
Swedana is a powerful Ayurvedic therapy that involves inducing sweat through herbal steam to eliminate toxins and promote overall well-being. Derived from the Sanskrit word "Sweda," meaning sweat, this treatment is designed to open the body's pores, enhance circulation, and remove deep-seated impurities. Typically performed after an oil massage (Abhyanga), Swedana allows the medicated oils to penetrate deeper into the tissues, accelerating the detoxification process. The warm steam, infused with medicinal herbs like neem, tulsi, eucalyptus, and sandalwood, helps relax the muscles, relieve joint stiffness, and improve mobility, making it highly effective for conditions like arthritis, muscle pain, and respiratory issues. Swedana also balances the Doshas, particularly Vata and Kapha, by reducing coldness, dryness, and blockages in the body.
