Churna Pinda Swedana (CPS) is a specialized Ayurvedic sudation (Swedana) therapy that uses heated herbal powders tied in cloth boluses (Pottali) to provide deep relief from pain, stiffness, and muscular discomfort. This unique therapy is highly effective for treating arthritis, joint disorders, muscle stiffness, and conditions caused by Vata and Kapha imbalances. The name itself is derived from "Churna" (powder), "Pinda" (bolus), and "Swedana" (sweating or fomentation), indicating its primary purpose of inducing therapeutic sweating to detoxify and heal the body. During the procedure, herbal powders made from ingredients like Rasnadi Churna, Guggulu, Triphala, Ajwain, Ginger, and Turmeric are heated and packed into cotton cloth boluses. These boluses are then dipped in warm medicated oils and massaged over affected areas using rhythmic strokes. The heat penetrates deep into the muscles and joints, promoting blood circulation, relieving pain, and enhancing flexibility.
